Crediting and classification

Do you come from another university or another study program? Here you can find out which achievements can be credited by the Faculty of Sport Science.

Course and exam achievements of foreign universities or from other study programs will be credited after checking the equivalence in individual cases: as partial achievements of individual modules or also for a complete module. This requires that they do not differ significantly in terms of learning outcomes from the achievements that are to be recognized. The applicant must provide the necessary information about the performance to be recognized.

(1) Classification in higher semesters (Bachelor)

Classification in a higher semester of the Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) and Bachelor of Arts (B. A.) degree programs is made by the Faculty of Sport Science (FfS). The number of subject semesters results from the extent of the ECTS credit points acquired through the recognition of the total extent of the respective study program.

The allocation of a study place in the Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) can only take place after the corresponding application for a university place in the higher semester at the Admission Office. Information on the procedure of application and the documents to be submitted can be found on the page of the Admission Office. Experiences have shown that places in higher semesters are limited, it is advisable to apply for a place in the first semester at the same time. The crediting of previously completed studies or examinations is independent of the number of semesters.

To enrol in the Bachelor of Arts (B. A.) degree program with physical education as a subject, it is sufficient to have a certificate of classification in a higher subject semester.

A valid entrance test certificate (not older than three years) from the RUB or the DSHS Cologne must be presented for enrollment in both programs!

The following points must be observed when applying for crediting:

Requirement for crediting of academic achievements is enrollment in the degree program in which crediting is to be granted.
Use one of the forms "Crediting and Classification" (see the link to Moodle download area below) depending on the study program and major and enter the title, course type, scope of the semester, workload and grade of the courses you would like to have recognized in the table.
In addition to the signed form, submit certificates of coursework and examinations as originals and copies.
For the assessment of learning outcomes, enclose descriptions of the modules (excerpt of module handbook or seminar overviews) that document the expected learning outcomes.

(2) Crediting of the RUB B. Sc. Sport Science for the RUB B. A. program and subsequent admission to the M. Ed. program.

Crediting in terms of content is granted upon presentation of the B.Sc. certificate to the head of the Examination Office of the Faculty of Sport Science (Dr Hubert Remmert, Tel. 0234/32-22296). Subsequently, this recognition must be submitted to the RUB Joint Examination Board and formally confirmed. With this certificate, enrollment in "Sport as a recognized subject" and in the 2nd subject of the B. A. is possible. B. A. graduates of the RUB apply for subsequent admission to the M. Ed. at the Professional School of Education (PSE): Zulassungsantrag.

(3) Applications for crediting the equivalence of a degree outside the RUB for admission to the Master of Education (M. Ed.) program

take place via the corresponding application for admission at the office "Certificate and Admission" of the PSE.
