Further education and training
Water sports training
In cooperation with the Professional School of Education, the Faculty of Sports Science offers advanced training in water sports for teachers in all types of schools, trainee teachers, student teachers (Bachelor's and Master's) and accompanying persons at school events. The content of the training courses is based on the technical requirements of the decree on safety promotion in school sports (MSB NRW, 2020).

Depending on the personal requirements and experience in the sports, successful participation can certify the suitability to accompany water sports activities in a school context. Further training is offered in the areas of windsurfing, (catamaran) sailing and stand-up paddling. There are also water sports training courses that focus on aspects for people with disabilities and/or chronic illnesses.
Practice:
- situational application of elementary techniques in windsurfing/sailing/stand-up paddling
- didactic-methodical development of windsurfing/sailing/stand-up paddling with groups of pupils in theory and practice
- Organization, safety and special features of the area in water sports lessons
- specific knowledge for the preparation and implementation of water sports activities as part of school events
- Material science
- Activities and functions in (catamaran) sailing, windsurfing and stand-up paddling
