- C-/B-Trainer of the German Badminton Association; badminton coach in a commercial sports facility, 1993-1994
- Student councillor with the subjects history, sport, social studies and chair of the sports conference at a comprehensive school in Dortmund, 1994-1998
- Habilitation, private lectureship and lectureships at the Bochum Faculty of Sports Science in the subject of sports science with special emphasis on sports history, 1996
